Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Araby will
pay a six-day visit to China from Friday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry
announced in a statement on Wednesday.
Al-Araby will visit China at the invitation of Foreign Minister Yang
Jiechi, the ministry said, without giving details.
His trip will come ahead of the Fifth Ministerial meeting of the China-Arab
Cooperation Forum which will be held in Tunisia in late May.
On Monday, Director-General of the Department of West Asian and North
African Affairs of the ministry Chen Xiaodong met Al-Araby in Cairo and
exchanged views on China-Arab relations and issues of common concern,
according to state-run Xinhua News Agency.
Chen also expressed China's willingness to strengthen communication and
cooperation with the Arab League for an early and proper solution to some
regional issues. |
