Two explosions hit Afghanistan's capital Kabul
Wednesday morning, hours after US President Barack Obama paid a surprise visit
to the city and signed a strategic partnership agreement with his Afghan
counterpart.
A suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laden car into the entrance gate of
logistic camp Green Village on Jalalabad Road. The explosion helped other
militants enter into the complex, citing Muhammad Ayub Salangi, Kabul's city
police chief, local media reported here.
He said the militants were still exchanging fire with the security forces.
Reports also said that there were at least two suicide blasts.
The explosions killed at least eight people and wounded seventeen others.
The latest series of blasts came hours after President Obama paid a brief
visit to Kabul and left for an undisclosed location after signing a strategic
pact with President Hamid Karzai. |
