China demands the US to apologize for a Chinese citizen's entering the US Embassy in Beijing, Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Weimin said Wednesday, according to the official Xinhua News Agency. "It is informed that Chen Guangcheng entered the US Embassy in Beijing in late April and left of his own volition after a six-day stay in the embassy," Liu was quoted as saying. Xinhua did not mention where prominent Chinese activist Chen has gone after leaving the US embassy. The blind activist was imprisoned for exposing forced abortion and sterilization, escaped from house arrest in Shangdong Province on April 22. He had been detained in his home for 18 months following his release from a four-year jail sentence in 2010.
