A visiting delegation representing Society for
Kuwait Media got a first hand look on Wednesday at the achievements of the
Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) in Lebanon.
The projects undertaken by KFAED in Lebanon assist in pushing ahead the
socio-economic wheel in the country, said delegation member Muhammad
al-Kraidi, who lauded the close ties between Kuwait and Lebanon.
KFEAD has offered Lebanon 19 loans since 1966 worth about half a billion
dollars, which have gone toward financing projects in the health, agriculture,
transportation, and communication sectors as well as toward recompensing
losses incurred by Lebanon as a result of Israeli aggression.
Moreover, KFAED overseas grants given by Kuwait to Lebanon, the last of
which was in 2006, to the tune of USD 300 million. |
