Kuwait's Deputy Minister, Foreign
Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid
Al-Sabah met here on Wednesday with Sudanese Foreign Minister Salah Wensi on
the sidelines of the 17th meeting of the foreign ministers of members of NAM,
currently being held here.
Following the meeting, Wensi told KUNA that he met the Kuwaiti minister in
the latter's capacity as the rotating president of the council of the Arab
League, to inform him of the situation in Sudan in the aftermath of the recent
attack on it by South Sudan.
Wensi said that his meeting with the Kuwaiti minister was in the light of
the Arab League's recent decision to support Sudan in all realms.
The Sudanese minister emphasized that if his country did not get a decision
from the League to stop South Sudan's aggression, then it would be up to Sudan
to eject Sudanese troops from its territory.
He welcomed any decision by the Kuwaiti minister to visit Sudan to discuss
with officials there Sudanese grievances against their southern neighbor. |
