A Kuwaiti diplomat and a UAE security official
refuted as "totally untrue" on Thursday a recent report that claims a Kuwaiti
national was attacked by an arme blanche here.
The Kuwaiti Consulate in Dubai has made every possible effort to verify the
credibility of the news in this regard carried by a Kuwaiti newspaper, acting
Charge D'affaires of the Consulate Khalid Al-Mutairi told KUNA.
"We have contacted all concerned departments including hospitals in Dubai
and found that the news is totally untrue," he clarified, urging the media to
avoid spreading rumours that could harm relations between the two countries.
Meanwhile, director of the general investigations department of Dubai
police Brig. Khalil Ibrahim Al-Mansouri said that the Kuwaiti newspaper in
question had fabricated the news.
"The photo attached to the report which portrays the alleged Kuwaiti youth
is an old photo belonging to an Emirati national in a totally different
incident," Al-Mansouri said in similar statements to KUNA. |
