Al-Arabi were denied two points by bottom club
Al-Shabab in Kuwait's premier football league on Thursday as weather
conditions threatened to end the match twice.
Al-Arabi's woes increased when the frustrated side's only goalscorer
Mohammed Zubiya saw red in the third minute of stoppage time.
The Libyan striker headed in the 30th minute from a cross, provided to him
by Hussain Al-Mousawi.
The encounter was marred by extremely dusty weather conditions, with the
referee stopping the match twice before resuming it as visibility gradually
improved.
Iranian forward Masood Farydon scored from the penalty spot in the 88th
minute to deny Al-Arabi's advances to the second spot, which could have taken
them to two points adrift of Al-Kuwait, in the match which ended 1-1. |
