The Kuwaiti play "Al-Boushiyyah" won as the best
theatrical show during Jordan's Free Theatre Festival that ended late on
Thursday.
Al-Boshiyyah, meaning the veil covering the face, depicts Kuwaiti tradition
and tackles thorny social issues such as class classification. The script
presents a society that unites against an "outsider" who in fact is a
descendant of a "true member" of that same society.
The Kuwaiti work was chosen as the number-one from among contesting plays
of troupes from Tunisia, Palestine, Libya, Jordan, Holland and Austria. |
