Hezbollah secretary general Hassan Nasrallah
Friday commended Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) for its
contributions to rebuilding southern Beirut in the wake of the Israeli 2006
war.
Nasrallah was speaking through a giant screen to mark the conclusion of the
"Wa'd," or promise, project to rebuild southern Beirut.
He said KFAED "made a donation to contribute to the reconstruction of
southern Beirut, and the rest of countries paid for the (Lebanese) government."
KFAED funded the rebuilding of apartment buildings, infrastructure,
education and cultural facilities.
KFAED is managing Kuwait's donations and financial aid to Lebanon,
including a USD 300 million grant extended after the July 2006 Israeli war.
