Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas Saturday said resuming peace negotiations with Israel was subjected to halting of Jewish settlements, including in occupied East Jerusalem, and the two-state solution. Abbas, during a meeting with Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu's advisor Yitzhak Malcho who handed over the premier's response to Abbas letter over failed peace process, called for ending the plight of the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails. He, in a press statement, said the Israeli occupation authorities should alleviate suffering of the Palestinian prisoners by meeting their demands: ending solitary confinement and allowing family visits.
