Armed rebels, better known as "Maoists", killed
as many as seven security personnel belonging to the Central Industrial
Security Force (CISF) in India's central state of Chhattisgarh, Sunday night,
reported the Press Trust of India (PTI).
The killing took place in the state's Dantewada district, which is said to
be prone to such incidents carried out by the "Maoists".
According to the report, the incident occurred at around 21.00 hours
(Sunday) when the CISF men were on a night patrol duty. Their driver of the
vehicle was also killed in the incident.
Reinforcements from the CISF and the Chhattisgarh state police were rushed
to the spot soon after the incident occurred following which the Maoists
disbursed.
District administration is learnt to have recovered the dead bodies of the
seven victims. |
