Kuwaiti Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf
and Islamic Affairs Jamal Al-Shihab said Monday his country has offered
countless contributions to the charitable actions worldwide including the
efforts to promote learning of the Holy Quran.
"The charitable and spiritual projects materialize the partnership between
the Kuwaiti government and society," he said.
The minister made the press remarks after laying the foundation stone of a
project for the learning of the Holy Quran in Fahad Al-Ahmad Area, being
developed through a donation from the family of late Aisha Nasser Al-Qatami.
"This philanthropic initiative by the Al-Qatami Family is in keeping with
the old tradition of the Kuwaiti society to pass down the Holy Quran from one
generation to another," Al-Shihab pointed out.
Meanwhile, Minister of Commerce and Industry Anas Al-Saleh, who attended
the inauguration ceremony of the project, extolled Al-Qatami Family for their
donation which "shows great love for the Kuwaiti society."
He also spoke highly of the great role of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic
Affairs promoting charitable action through working with philanthropic sons of
Kuwait inside and outside the country.
On his part, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs
Dr. Adel Al-Falah said his ministry was keen on encouraging the Muslims to
learn the Holy Quran by heart in collaboration with the society. |
