One worker is dead and three others are suffering
from inhalation of toxic fumes as a result of a fire in a construction site in
Salmiya Thursday morning, the Fire Department said.
The official statement pointed out the department had received report of a
construction worker falling into a water reservoir in a basement as work was
ongoing to drain it. The machinery used in draining the water malfunctioned
and sent noxious fumes, causing four workers to faint.
Fire and rescue personnel attempted to save the worker who fell into the
water, but discovered he had died, while the other three were taken to a
nearby hospital for care. |
