The number of Syrians killed by government forces on Sunday rose to 48, including 36 in Hama, three in outskirts of Damascus, three in Aleppo, two in Homs, two in Idleb, one in Daraa, and one in Damascus, said Local Coordination Committees (LCC). The committees said that as violence expands on large scale, huge explosions rocked the city of hamouriya and was followed by heavy gunfire, which caused a state of frenzy among local residents. LCC noted that several demonstrations against Syrian regime went out from various Syrian cities and towns, adding that the protests were met with heavy shelling, live ammunition, tear gas grenades, and random arrests by government forces that caused casualties among demonstrators. Also, it pointed out that the demonstrations were in favor of freedom, affected cities, release of activists and detainees who were sentenced today for 23 years in anti-regime charges. In addition, LCC pointed out that regime forces launched heavy shelling against Rastan town, Homs, just two hours after UN international observers' mission left the town, adding that human and financial casualties toll is still undetermined.
