French President Francois Hollande is to hold talks
with Qatar Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem
Al-Thani next week, the Elysee Palace announced Friday.
The meeting between the two men is scheduled for June 7 and both regional
and bilateral topics are expected to be on the agenda.
It will be the first meeting between Hollande and the Qatari official since
the French Presidential election on May 6.
Syria is likely to dominate the talks in view of the worsening situation
and Hollande will be likely seeking an update on the Arab League position
after the meeting of Foreign Ministers on Saturday.
Hollande has been pushing for tougher action against Syria and is meeting
President Vladimir Putin on Friday night to discuss the situation. |
