US Under Secretary of State for Political
Affairs Wendy Sherman will travel to France later this month to discuss with
P5+1 countries the preparations for the next round of talks on Iran's nuclear
program.
The State Department noted in a statement Sunday that Sherman will travel
to Strasbourg, France, on June 11-12, for consultations with her P5+1
counterparts (China, France, Germany, Russia, UK and EU) in preparation for
talks with Iran in Moscow on June 18-19.
"As part of our dual-track policy to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear
weapon, the United States remains united with other P5+1 partners in our
commitment to serious preparations for the Moscow round of talks, and to
enabling the diplomatic track to succeed", added the statement.
The State Department noted that Iran "has the opportunity to begin
addressing international concerns over its nuclear program by coming to Moscow
prepared to take concrete steps in response to the proposals presented in
Baghdad". |
