Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu here on
Sunday affirmed his government's intention on boosting Israeli settlements in
West Bank areas.
According to Israeli media, Netanyahu pointed out that his government's
policy on settlements in the West Bank was clear, which was to build more
housing units despite pressure ins and outside Israel, calling at the same
time to commit to and respect authority of the law.
He noted that there was not any contradictions between the building of
settlements and respect of law, explaining that undermining the law would hurt
settlement and weaken it, while respecting the law would boost it in the West
Bank.
Earlier, Dr. Saeb Erekat, chief Palestinian negotiator, affirmed
Palestinian leadership's rejection to building Israeli settlements in the West
Bank. |
