The Supreme Court on Wednesday gave deadline to the new Prime Minister to open Swiss corruption cases against President Asif Ali Zardari, a matter which led to the dismissal of previous Premier Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani. The Supreme Court in its brief order, issued after proceedings in implementation of NRO case, asked the new Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf to write letter to Swiss authorities to open corruption cases against President Zardari. Former Prime Minister Gilani was disqualified from his office for not writing the letter to the Swiss authorities and, hence, committing the contempt of court. Immediately after his dismissal and election of new Prime Minister, the President signed an ordinance that validated all the orders, directions, instruments and agreements signed and taken by former Premier Gilani. Legal experts and political analysts fear that the executive and judiciary are heading toward another collision as it appears that the new Premier will also not open corruption cases against the President.
