His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad
Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issued a decree on Thursday assigning His Highness Sheikh
Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah as Prime Minister.
The Amiri decree states that HH Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak is to designate
members of his cabinet.
HH Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak had presented his resignation to HH the Amir on
July 1. The resignation came amid government keenness to meet all legal and
constitutional requirements and in the implementation of an earlier
constitutional court decision on June 20.
It also came in light of appeal claims to the 2012 National Assembly
elections, which led to the whole election process and the membership of all
candidates who won the election, being revoked, and the former parliament
reinstated by the power of the constitution. |
