UNSC unanimously extends UNSMIS mandate for final 30-day period
UNITED NATIONS --- Churkin also said his delegation did not want to stand
in the way of the adoption of the resolution, even though it is "contradictory.

On President Assad's exit from power, he told reporters "President Assad is
not our responsibility. Just be sure."
US Ambassador Susan Rice said today's resolution "was not the
resolution the United States had hoped to adopt in the first instance."
She insisted that it "allows the Mission to withdraw safely and orderly" in
