GCC technical experts started a meeting here on
Sunday discussing issues related to the joint electronic system for
registration of citizens, namely those with retirement benefits, and means of
securing data of the common system.
The session is the 27th meeting of the GCC permanent technical committee of
the civil retirement and social security, due from September 16 to 18. It is
hosted by the Omani Public Service Pensions Fund.
The meeting is designed to discuss application of the common system to
insurance protection of the private data concerning the GCC citizens, namely
numbers and statistics of the pensioners.
The meeting will discuss minutes of the fourth meeting of the joint team of
technicians and representatives of the permanent commission, that had been
hosted by Riyadh, and recommendations of the 9th regular session that had been
held in Kuwait.
GCC states hold regular meetings for coordination in various fields. They
seek to unify regulations and applied systems, such as data storage electronic
programs.
The GCC which comprises Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman and
Bahrain, was founded in the early 80s for coordination in diverse sectors.
