Locals in a Turkish border village panicked
Friday after Syrian government tanks attacked a border site in a bid to regain
control from the opposition Free Syrian Army (FSA), NTV reported.
It added that the locals of the village, 300 meters away from Tal Al-Abyadh
crossing, left their farm lands and sought shelter in their homes when the
confrontations between the Syrian regular army and FSA elements escalated.
The FSA personnel seized control on Tal Al-Abyadh crossing two days ago.
NTV said the tanks were bombarding the FSA personnel around the crossing
with columns of smoke seen over the area.
