After public pressure and criticism from the
Democratic Party, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney released on
Friday his full 2011 federal tax returns, fulfilling a commitment he made
earlier this year.
Brad Walt, the trustee of the Romney's blind trust, said that the
Republican candidate paid USD 1,935,708 in 2011 taxes on USD 13,696,591 in
income, paying an effective tax rate of 14.1 percent, below the average rate
of 15 percent for American taxpayers.
Walt also mentioned that Romney paid between 1990 and 2009 an average
federal tax of 20.2 percent.
Romney gave in 2011 USD 4,020,772 in charitable donations and claimed a USD
2.35 million deduction for them. |
