The French government on Monday welcomed the
appointment of Hailemariam Desalegn as incoming Prime Minister of Ethiopia and
Paris also praised the appointment of Demeke Mekonnen as Deputy Premier in
Addis Ababa.
A statement congratulated the Ethiopian government for having conducted
business during a constitutional transition period and urged continued and
reinforced dialogue between the two nations.
"France and Ethiopia have a driving role to play together on all subjects
of common interest like development, democracy and regional security," a
statement said here.
"We send all of our wishes for success to Hailemarian Dealegn and Demeke
Mekonnen in their mission at the service of Ethiopia, the Ethiopian people and
the African continent," the statement added. |
