1960 -- An Amiri decree is issued regulating the state's budget and authorities supervising it. 1975 -- An Amiri decree is issued forming the country's eighth cabinet headed by Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. The cabinet comprises 15 ministers with the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Awqaf (endowment) and Islamic Affairs merged into one. 1982 -- The Commercial Markets Company is formed with a capital of KD 50 million with the objective of possession, management, and leasing of commercial and industrial centers. 1985 -- Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issues law 5/85 allowing appointment of students of Kuwait University and the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training at state bodies, within Civil Service Commission provisions. 1986 -- The KD 20 bill comes into circulation. 1993 -- Al-Shaab Sea Club reopens after undergoing major renovation work for damage caused by the Iraqi invasion in August 1990. 1996 -- Temperatures reach their highest for this day of the year, with a maximum of 31 degree centigrade, 11 degree above average. Temperature records in the country go back to 1962. 2005 -- The Public Warehousing Company, represented by Global Clearings House, signs a 25-year contract for providing support services to customs facilities, with investments of up to KD 500 million. 2006 -- Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issues a decree forming the country's 22nd cabinet, the first during his reign. The Cabinet is headed by His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and comprises 15 ministers. 2008 -- Jahra fencing team becomes the Arab champion for the first time at the Arab champions' championship held in Kuwait.
