Algerian Pres. visits Turkiye to boost coop.

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune commenced Wednesday his official visit to Turkiye to discuss boosting cooperation and launch the joint strategic cooperation council. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan received President Tebboune at Ankara International Airport. The three-day visit came within the context of enhancing brotherhood and cooperation relations between the two sides in a manner that opens new perspectives of shared partnership and coordination in varied fields, Turkish presidency said in a statement. The Algerian-Turkish relations have witnessed an accelerated development over the past years in multiple fields driven by the 2006 cooperation and friendship agreement. Both sides are seeking to raise the volume of trade exchange from USD six billion to USD 10 billion a year, according to Algeria's official statistics.
