1962 -- The first edition of the political weekly "Al-Watan" newspaper was published. 1965 -- Kuwaiti Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah issues decree on internal statue of Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC). 1967 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah issues decree stipulating declaration of martial law whenever state security is endangered. 1967 -- Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah issues decree declaring "defensive war against Zionist gangs in occupied Palestine." 1972 -- The Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah issues a decree approving Kuwait's membership in the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production and Stockpiling of Bacteriological (Biological) and Toxin Weapons and on their Destruction, endorsed by the UN General assembly on November 26, 1971. 1983 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah issues a decree-into-law on establishment of the Gulf Investment Corporation (GIC), a joint venture for member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), approved in the Bahraini capital, Manama, on November 10, 1982. 2005 - Cabinet appoints two women as municipal council members for the first time in Kuwait history. 2015 - Al-Jahra Hospital inaugurates the first advanced technology at the IVF units in Kuwait to conduct a microscopic examination of male infertility diseases.
