1932 -- Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in a letter to the British commissioner, approved of Iraq Premier Nouri Al-Saeed's proposal on the joint borders of the two Arab states. 1960 -- Kuwait Insurance Company (KIC) was established at a capital of five million rupees. 1960 -- Kuwait's Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah signed a decree to establish the National Industries Company (NIC) at a capital of 25 million rupees. 1966 -- The State of Kuwait signed into the agreement forming the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO), an entity established by the Arab League Council in April first, 1961. 1990 -- An extraordinary Arab summit held in Cairo condemned and rejected Iraq's invasion and annexation of the State of Kuwait and called for an immediate withdrawal from Kuwaiti soil. 1990 -- The Kuwaiti resistance put out a leaflet dubbed Al-Murabtoun (sentries) calling on the people of the country to be patient and resist the Iraqi invaders. 1992 -- The Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah signed a decree establishing the Public Authority for Youth and Sports (PAYS). 2001 -- A tremendous amount of fish, mostly mead species, died in Ashairej area. 2002 -- Fawzi Dahash clinched the 14th Asian Games 400 meters sprint gold medal in Sri Lanka. 2004 -- Kuwait's tennis national youth team brought home the gold medal of the Arab Tournament held in Cairo. 2005 -- Abdulaziz Jaafar, a prominent Kuwaiti media figure, passed away at the age of 77. 2016 -- Kuwaiti shooter Fuhaid Al-Daihani won a gold medal in the double trap tourney in Brazil Olympic Games. 2012 -- Ahmad Zaid Al-Sarhan, former parliament speaker, passed away at age 92.
