Al-Khaleej defeats Al-Duhail to maintain winning run in Asian Handball Championship

Saudi Arabia's Al-Khlaeej defeated Qatar's Al-Duhail 32-27 on Friday in the 28th Asian Men's Club League Handball Championship, held in Kuwait and serving as a qualifier for the 2026 IHF Men's Super Globe in Egypt. Al-Khaleej continued its impressive run in the tournament with another strong performance, taking control of the match early and heading into halftime with an 18-12 lead. The Saudi side maintained its advantage throughout the second half to secure a comfortable victory. Al-Khaleej player Mujtaba Salem was named the match's Most Valuable Player following his standout performance. Earlier in the day, Kuwait's Burgan Club defeated Bahrain's Al-Najma 28-24 to become the first team to secure a place in the tournament's semifinals. The day's action concludes with a match between the UAE's Sharjah Club and Qatar's Al-Arabi at Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex. The championship, which began on June 6, will continue through June 17 with leading clubs from across Asia competing for the continental title and qualification to the Club World Cup.
