Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Friday that a final agreed text for a peace agreement between the United States and Iran has been reached. In a post on X, Sharif said, "We can confirm that a final and mutually agreed text of the peace agreement has been reached, and Pakistan is currently working closely with both parties to finalize the next steps." He added that "peace has never been closer than it is now." Sharif also said that Pakistan, which has been engaged in intensive and ongoing mediation efforts, is fully aware of what he described as a continuing campaign of misinformation by parties seeking to undermine the peace agreement. The Pakistani premier's remarks come amid ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at securing a comprehensive settlement between Washington and Tehran and reducing tensions in the region.
