The International Islamic Charity Organization (IICO), strengthening its international presence, is taking part in the annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) in Baku, capital of Azerbaijan. Badr Al-Sumait, Deputy Director General for Projects Ibrahim Al-Bader, and Partnerships Officer Eng. Khalil Al-Mohammad, according to a press release from the IICO. The meetings provide a chance for the IICO to build new partnerships with international and regional organizations in the areas of humanitarian and developmental cooperation. The delegation will take part in a number of key events, including the Partners Session of the Response, Recovery and Resilience (R3) Forum. The organization is expected to announce its accession as a founding partner of the R3 Forum, alongside a financial contribution of USD 10 million over five years. IICO will also participate in the sixth steering committee meeting of the Skills, Training and Education Program (STEP), one of the IsDB's strategic initiatives designed to empower refugees, displaced persons and host communities through education, skills development and economic empowerment. As a strategic partner and member of the program's steering committee, the organization will review its contributions, which have exceeded USD 5.2 million since 2022, and present its vision for strengthening the program's impact and sustainability in the coming years. The organization is also set to take part in the Collaborative Partnership for Learning and Sharing (CPLS) session, which focuses on issues of fragility and resilience-building in countries affected by conflicts and crises. IICO reaffirmed resolve to build strategic partnerships with regional and international institutions and strengthen its presence on global platforms concerned with development and humanitarian action.
