Kuwait FM meets US counterpart during official visit to the country

Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah met on Wednesday with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the occasion of his official visit to Kuwait. The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the two sides reviewed the longstanding strategic partnership between the two friendly countries and peoples, noting that this year marks the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Kuwait and the United States and the 35th anniversary of Kuwait's liberation from the Iraqi invasion. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further developing bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in a manner that serves the shared interests and aspirations of both countries. They also discussed the latest regional developments, particularly diplomatic efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability in the region following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the United States and Iran.
