Bahrain strongly condemned and denounced on Sunday the renewed Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting Kuwait.
The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the attacks constitute a flagrant violation of Kuwait's sovereignty, security and stability, and breach international law, the UN Charter, the principles of good neighbourliness and UN Security Council Resolution 2817.
The ministry added that the attacks also violate the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and undermine efforts aimed at de-escalation and strengthening regional security and stability.
It reaffirmed Bahrain's full solidarity with Kuwait and its complete support for all legitimate measures taken by the country to safeguard its sovereignty, security and territorial integrity, while commending the efficiency, vigilance and high readiness of Kuwait's air defense forces in repelling the hostile attacks.
The ministry renewed Bahrain's call on Iran to comply with its obligations under international law and relevant international resolutions and understandings, halt its attacks against the countries and peoples of the region, and ensure the security and safety of maritime navigation through the Strait of Hormuz in a manner that promotes regional and international peace, security and stability.
