Service Description

  • This service enables users to request licensing theatrical performances that are to be presented to the public. Applicants for the license obtain initial approval from the committee, provided that final approval is granted for the theatrical performance after submitting a general rehearsal to the committee which approves the performance

Required Documents

  • Target Audience: Theatrical production companies and institutions
  • Letter from the company requesting licensing
  • Author's curriculum vitae
  • 10 copies of the play text to be approved
  • Valid theatrical production license
  • The licensing application shall be submitted to the competent department, accompanied by evidence that the text has been deposited in the National Library of Kuwait, according to the form prepared for that purpose.
  • Digital copy of the play text
  • Filling out the form prepared for information about the theatrical performance at the theatre administration, attaching a copy of a valid theatrical production license
  • Certificate from the Fire Force proving the theatre's readiness

Procedures

​The theatrical production company must send a letter addressed to the Secretary-General requesting licensing for the theatrical performance.​

Submission: At the theatre management headquarters (Al-Shamiya Theatre)​

Note​:

- After completing the stipulated procedures, the producing entity must notify the Council of the date of the final rehearsal 15 days before the scheduled date.

- The performance licensing is valid for one year from the date of notification of the licensing and is renewable for a similar period, provided that a renewal request is submitted sixty days before the end of the previous period. The Council shall decide on this according to the requirements of the public interest.
- Theatrical performances are approved after watching the theatrical performance with all its elements in the final rehearsal.
