Change of Residence Address for Kuwaiti Citizens

Service Description

  • ​This service allows Kuwaiti citizens to change their registered residential address in the Civil Information System.

Eligibility or Criteria

  • The address of the entire family must be changed.

  • The maximum registration allows up to 4 families with 30 individuals.

  • A fingerprint of the concerned person is only required when changing the address of a privately-owned house or a father's house. For an heir's house, the fingerprint of one of the heirs is required.

  • The owner's fingerprint is required for transactions involving changing the address under rental status.

  • A widow changing her address must contact the Legal Affairs Department to obtain a document proving she has custody of her minor children only.

  • In the event of divorce:

  • The guardian can change the children's address by providing: Custody Ruling + Certificate of Non-Appeal Acquisition.​

  • Individuals over the age of 18 must be present in person, or represented by someone with an official authorization.

  • In the absence of a custody ruling, both parties may attend to sign.

  • In the event of the death of the head of the family, a certificate of inheritance and a copy of the deed are required. If residing in a building owned by heirs, a copy of the certificate of inheritance and a copy of the building's ownership deed are required. If there is a power of attorney for the building, a copy of the power of attorney and the agent's ID are required.

Required Documents

  • Change of Address via the Sahel App:
  • Owned Residence: Property Deed
  • Parents' Residence: Deed of the House only. In the event of the death of the head of the family, a certificate of inheritance + copy of the deed are required.
  • Rental Residence: Lease contract that meets all requirements + Property Deed. The rental contract must include the names of both parties in the contract + full address + signatures of both parties (owner – lessor).
  • Residence Address of Spouse: Clear copy of the Civil ID card or the Property Deed.
  • Change of Address via Personal Attendance:
  • Original Civil ID cards for all family members.
  • Two recent personal photos that meet specifications (for each individual aged 5 years and older).
  • Building (original lease contract and a copy of it).
  • Rental House (lease contract, a copy of it, and the owner's deed).
  • Living with a first or second-degree relative:
  • A copy of the Civil ID card of the homeowner.
  • Property deed.
  • Owned Property (property deed or an allocation letter from the Public Authority for Housing Welfare in the case of a governmental house and the owner's signature on a housing declaration form).
  • Change of address of the first party (company): The signature must be authenticated for the company, along with a power of attorney from the owner to the company.
  • Residence declaration signed by the applicant, listing the names of all family members included in the transaction.

Procedures

​Bring the required documents and head to the Public Authority for Civil Information building located in Zahra, first floor, Citizens' Office.​
