Service Description

  • This service allows the business sector of civil companies to obtain a license for pest control. This license is given after conducting technical surveys of the applicant companies and the medical examination on the technicians working for these companies and technical examinations for them.

Eligibility or Criteria

  • The applicant must be a Kuwaiti citizen and not less than (21) years of age.
  • The applicant must not have been previously convicted of a criminal offense or an offense involving dishonor or moral turpitude.
  • The applicant must provide at least one pest control technician licensed by the Ministry of Health in the State of Kuwait.
  • The location of the warehouse shall at all times conform to the approved plan of the Ministry of Health, and no modification of the location shall be made except after obtaining approval from the competent authorities.
  • The engineering plan of the site, warehouse, and all included buildings must comply with the conditions and construction materials approved by the Joint Permanent Committee for the Regulation of Manufacturing, Importing, and Handling of Pesticides, and must be approved by one of the accredited engineering offices and the competent licensing authority as a complementary requirement for obtaining the license.
  • The engineering plan of the site, warehouse, and all included buildings must be approved by one of the accredited engineering offices, and this plan shall be attached after approval by the competent licensing authority to the license and shall be considered a complementary requirement for the license.
  • The site must remain at all times in conformity with the approved plan of the Ministry of Health, and no changes shall be made except after obtaining approval from the competent authorities.
  • The warehouse must be located away from residential areas and food storage warehouses.
  • The warehouse must be located in a separate building consisting of a ground floor and one floor above ground level directly, and its area must not be less than (35) square meters.
  • The warehouse must be equipped with an internal cooling system so that the temperature ranges between (17–25) degrees Celsius and humidity does not exceed (50%). The cooling system must be completely independent and not connected to any other place, and it must be an open system that allows the suction of (30–50%) of indoor air to reduce pollution.
  • Adequate natural ventilation must be provided to continuously renew air by using suction fans of appropriate capacity in case the cooling system is not operating.
  • The use of electrical lighting that emits strong heat or any other heat source such as heaters or stoves inside the warehouse is prohibited, as it may cause fire.
  • The stored materials must be placed on bases or shelves made of non-flammable materials that do not absorb stored substances, and the height of stacked materials must not be less than 30 cm from ground level and not exceed two-thirds of wall height, and must be at least 75 cm away from the walls to facilitate movement and cleaning operations in the warehouse.
  • A changing room, protective equipment, and a first aid kit must be provided.
  • Sufficient shower bathrooms must be provided according to the number of workers at the site.
  • A warehouse for storing equipment and machinery used in pest control operations must be provided.
  • A room or designated place for mixing pesticides must be provided, provided that it is equipped with appropriate cooling or ventilation systems, and that electrical equipment used for mixing pesticides is of a fully enclosed type, and the mixing room and pesticide storage warehouse must be located in the same place.
  • The site must be equipped with a sewage system and another system for the disposal of liquid and solid industrial waste if necessary.​

  • Required General Documents
  • Copy of the civil ID and nationality certificate of the company owner
  • The license of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on which the pest control activity is added
  • A copy of the license from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to the company
  • Copy of the articles of incorporation of the company authenticated by the Ministry of Justice
  • Copy of the lease contract of the company and the pesticides warehouse and a lease receipt of a recent date of the company and the pesticides warehouse or a proof of ownership
  • A list of the vehicles used in the pest control
  • A list of the pesticides used in pest control which are authorized in Kuwait
  • A list of the names of the persons working in pest control
  • The Required Documents for the Pesticides Warehouse
  • Copy of the lease contract of the importing company and its warehouse
  • A lease receipt of the company and the warehouse of recent date or a proof of the ownership of the warehouse
  • Copy of the engineering plan of the location and the warehouse and the affiliated buildings according to the stipulated conditions and the used materials in the construction and preparation of the building which are stipulated by the mutual permanent committee for the organization of the manufacturing, importation and handling of pesticides
  • Copy of the license of the Fire Service Directorate for the pesticides warehouse, provided that the activity is the storage of dangerous materials (pesticides).

Procedures

Bring the file of the company which includes the required papers and documents and visit the Medical Insect and Rodent Control Section in the Public Health Department affiliated with the Ministry of Health
The technicians working for the company undergo medical examinations in the occupational Health Section (The Ministry of Health of Kuwait)
A technical evaluation exam of pest control is held by the competent technical committee for the technicians of the companies in the Insect Control Department - Ministry of Health of Kuwait

 Variable Fees
(500) KD Fixed Fees: Fees to issue the pest control license (pesticides).
(100) KD Fixed Fees: Annual renewal fees of the pest control license. These fees must be paid three months before the expiration of the license.
(500) KD Fixed Fees: Fees to issue a warehouse license to store the pesticides.
(100) KD Fixed Fees: Fees of annual renewal of the warehouse license to store pesticides.
