Service Description

  • This service allows citizens and the business sector (companies and organizations) to issue licenses for opening private general hospitals of common general medical specialties like: surgery, abdomen, and medical assistance activities. This license covers also specialty hospitals like: gynecology and obstetrics or pediatrics hospitals.

Eligibility or Criteria

  • The applicant entity must be a medical Kuwaiti company offering medical services 


  • The applicant entity must obtain the approval of the Medical License Committee

Required Documents

  • Approval of the Medical License Committee
  • Authenticated articles of incorporations of the company
  • Commercial license from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Declaration)
  • Approval of Kuwait Municipality on the hospital location
  • Approvals of Kuwait Fire Service Directorate, Ministry of Interior, and Ministry of Commerce and Industry
  • Approval of the Environment Public Authority

Procedures

Submit a request to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to establish a company
Visit the Medical License Department of the Ministry of Health and submit the required documents
Fill the service application form
Pay the fees due
Obtain the primary approval of the Medical License Committee
Present the authenticated articles of incorporations and the commercial license of the company, in addition to the approvals of Kuwait Municipality and other entities concerned like: Kuwait Fire Service Directorate and the Ministry of Interior
Start the construction procedures of the hospital. Following this phase, primary and final inspections are made on the hospital to ensure meeting all the medical requirements.
Appoint the required number of medical, technical, and nursing specialists. Then, the license to open a private hospital is issued and a date is scheduled
