Service Description

  • This service enables the processing of work residence procedures for persons who provide proof of a source of income, in accordance with Article 24 of the Executive Regulations of the Law on the Residence of Foreigners. The service includes the following:
  • Residence for those with Source of Income First Time
  • Residence for those with Source of Income Renewal
  • Residence for those with Source of Income Cancellation
  • Residence for a Widow or a Divorcee with Children of Kuwaiti Citizen First Time
  • Residence for a Widow or a Divorcee with Children of Kuwaiti Citizen Renewal

Eligibility or Criteria

  • The residence application form must be signed by the sponsor.​

Required Documents

  • Required Documents for Each Service:
  • Residence for those with Source of Income First Time
  • The designated residence application form shall be completed and duly signed.
  • A certificate of good conduct and good standing (criminal record clearance), as verified through the computerized system.
  • Two personal photographs with a blue background, size 4 × 6 cm.
  • The original passport of the sponsored person.
  • Birth certificates of the children, provided that none of the children exceeds 21 years of age, in the case of a widow or a divorced woman of a Kuwaiti citizen who has custody of the children.
  • Health insurance certificate.
  • Residence for those with Source of Income Renewal
  • The designated residence application form shall be completed and duly signed.
  • The original passport of the sponsored person.
  • Two personal photographs with a blue background, size 4 × 6 cm.
  • Health insurance certificate.
  • Renewal shall be processed in accordance with the circulars in force at the time of application review.
  • Residence for those with Source of Income Cancellation
  • The designated residence application form shall be completed and duly signed.
  • The original passport and a copy thereof.
  • The original Civil ID (for cancellation).
  • The passports of persons sponsored by the applicant, if any.
  • Residence for a Widow or a Divorcee with Children of Kuwaiti Citizen First Time
  • Copies of the children’s birth certificates or copies of their Civil IDs.
  • A social status certificate issued by the Ministry of Justice (certificate of non-marriage).
  • A declaration of custody of the children, in the case of a widow, and a custody judgment, in the case of a divorced woman of a Kuwaiti citizen.
  • Residence for a Widow or a Divorcee with Children of Kuwaiti Citizen Renewal
  • A certificate issued by the Ministry of Justice confirming the continuation of the social status (for the widow and the divorced woman of a Kuwaiti citizen), namely a certificate of non-marriage.
  • A declaration of custody of the children, in the case of a widow, and a custody judgment, in the case of a divorced woman of a Kuwaiti citizen.
  • In the event that there is a son who has reached 21 years of age, the mother’s residence shall be under his sponsorship, and she shall not be granted residence under Article 24.

Procedures

The application may be submitted through the Sahel App (Residence Services) or in person, in accordance with the following procedures: 
The applicant shall bring the required documents and visit the General Department of Nationality and Travel Documents in the relevant governorate. 

The designated service form shall be completed. ​

The prescribed fees for the service shall be paid.​
