Service Description

  • This service enables Kuwaiti citizens and non-Kuwaiti residents to obtain a training accompaniment permit and to renew or obtain a learner’s permit, in accordance with the provisions of the Traffic Law and its Executive Regulations No. (67/76), as amended.

Eligibility or Criteria

  • ​The applicant must hold a public driving license.
  • The applicant must be of good reputation and must not have been convicted of a felony or a crime involving honor or trust, nor have committed serious traffic accidents or been caught driving under the influence of alcohol or narcotic substances.
  • The applicant must pass a special test in driving, traffic rules and etiquette, basic vehicle mechanics, and ability to provide instruction.
  • The applicant must hold a secondary school certificate or an equivalent qualification.
  • A training permit may be granted to a Kuwaiti citizen wishing to train one of his mahram relatives, provided that he holds a valid private driving license that has been valid for at least five years.

Procedures

The applicant shall bring the required documents and visit the General Traffic Department in the relevant governorate. ​
