Service Description

  • This service enables Kuwaiti citizens to obtain a replacement for a lost passport.

Eligibility or Criteria

  • ​The passport holder shall attend in person at the General Department of Nationality and Travel Documents for investigation and for the necessary procedures to determine the reason for, and place of, the passport loss.
  • The loss of the passport shall be announced in the official gazette, Kuwait Alyawm.
  • The replacement passport shall be issued after the expiry of the legally prescribed period set out in the ministerial resolution (5 months).
  • Persons with disabilities and citizens aged 65 years and above shall be exempted from the fees, in accordance with Circular No. 159 of 2017.

Required Documents

  • A letter from the person concerned reporting the loss of the passport shall be submitted.

Procedures

The above-mentioned documents shall be submitted to the General Department of Nationality and Travel Documents.​
