Service Description

  • This service enables residence procedures for domestic workers and persons of similar status under Article 20, including the following services:
  • Domestic Work Residence First Time
  • Domestic Work Residence Renewal
  • Domestic Work Residence Cancellation
  • ​Transfer Residence to Another Sponsor Domestic Work Residence
    • ​

Eligibility or Criteria

  • The residence application form must be signed by the sponsor.​

Required Documents

  • Required Documents for Each Service:
  • Domestic Work Residence First Time:
  • The designated residence application form, duly signed by the sponsor.
  • The original entry visa used by the sponsored person upon first entry into the country.
  • A certificate of good conduct and good standing (criminal record clearance) issued by the sponsored person’s country, authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of the State of Kuwait, and valid at the time of submitting the application.
  • Two personal photographs with a blue background, size 4 × 6 cm.
  • A criminal status report issued through the computerized system.
  • A medical fitness certificate (fit for health purposes) issued through the computerized system.
  • The original passport of the sponsored person.
  • Health insurance certificate.
  • The sponsor’s Civil ID and a copy thereof.
  • Domestic Work Residence Renewal:
  • The designated residence application form, duly signed by the sponsor.
  • Two personal photographs with a blue background, size 4 × 6 cm.
  • The original passport of the sponsored person and a copy thereof.
  • The sponsor’s Civil ID and a copy thereof.
  • Health insurance certificate.
  • Domestic Work Residence Cancellation:
  • The designated residence application form, duly signed by the sponsor.
  • The original passport of the sponsored person.
  • The original Civil ID of the sponsored person.
  • The sponsor’s Civil ID and a copy thereof.
  • Transfer Residence to Another Sponsor Domestic Work Residence:
  • The designated residence application form, signed by the previous sponsor as a waiver and by the new sponsor as approval.
  • Two personal photographs with a blue background, size 4 × 6 cm.
  • The original passport of the sponsored person.
  • The original Civil ID of the sponsored person (for cancellation purposes).
  • The original Civil ID of the new sponsor and a copy thereof.
  • The original Civil ID of the transferring sponsor and a copy thereof.
  • Health insurance certificate.

Procedures

The application may be submitted through the Sahel App (Residence Services) or in person, in accordance with the following procedures:
The applicant shall bring the required documents and visit the General Department of Nationality and Travel Documents in the relevant governorate.

The designated service form shall be completed. ​

The prescribed fees for the service shall be paid.​
