Service Description

  • ​ This service enables the processing of student residence procedures in accordance with Article 23 of the Executive Regulations of the Law on the Residence of Foreigners. The service includes the following:
  • Student Residence First Time
  • Student Residence Renewal
  • Student Residence Cancellation
    • ​

Eligibility or Criteria

  • The residence application form must be signed by the sponsor.​

Required Documents

  • Required Documents for Each Service:
  • Student Residence First Time
  • The designated residence application form, duly signed by the sponsoring entity.
  • The original entry visa used by the sponsored person to enter the country.
  • A letter from the government educational institution indicating the required period of residence.
  • A medical fitness certificate (fit for health purposes), as verified through the computerized system.
  • Two personal photographs of the sponsored person.
  • The original passport of the sponsored person.
  • Health insurance certificate.
  • A criminal record certificate (certificate of good conduct) issued by the authorities in the sponsored person’s country and authenticated by the Embassy of the State of Kuwait, provided that it is valid for three months from the date of issuance.
  • A Kuwaiti criminal record certificate, as verified through the computerized system.
  • Student Residence Renewal
  • The designated residence application form shall be completed and duly signed by the government educational institution.
  • A letter from the government educational institution indicating the required period of residence.
  • Two personal photographs of the sponsored person.
  • The original passport of the sponsored person.
  • Health insurance certificate.
  • Student Residence Cancellation
  • The designated cancellation application form, duly signed by the government educational institution.
  • A letter from the sponsoring government educational institution requesting cancellation of the student residence permit and indicating the required period for departure.
  • The original Civil ID of the sponsored person.
  • The original passport of the sponsored person and a copy thereof.

Procedures

The application may be submitted through the Sahel App (Residence Services) or in person, in accordance with the following procedures: 
The applicant shall bring the required documents and visit the General Department of Nationality and Travel Documents in the relevant governorate.

The designated service form shall be completed. ​

The prescribed fees for the service shall be paid.​
