Service Description

  • This service enables caregivers to request a patient companion leave.

Eligibility or Criteria

  • The person with a disability must be a Kuwaiti citizen or be treated as a Kuwaiti individual pursuant to a decision issued by the Ministry of Interior of the State of Kuwait.

  • The person with a disability must have a moderate or severe disability.

  • The disability certificate must be valid.

  • The certificate of the caregiver must be valid.

Required Documents

  • Letter from the Department of Treatment Abroad stating the duration of the leave (date of departure and return)
  • Medical report stating the date of admission and discharge from the hospital for the patient’s companion (the companion’s name and civil ID number must be mentioned).
  • Medical report stating the duration of treatment based on the recommendation of the treating physician (if the duration is two months or less, the report will be through a medical committee at Public Authority for Disability Affairs, If the treatment period exceeds two months, it will be referred to the General Medical Council.)

Procedures

The application must be submitted at the headquarters of the Public Authority for Disability Affairs in Hawalli, Block 11, Beirut Street, opposite Al Bayan Bilingual School, or at one of the Authority’s branches during the morning period from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.​
